Battle Report 26.04.2017

Flank, Head Hunter
Claim Jump, Quick Murder, Frame for Murder, Leave your Mark, Last Stand

This time I played against Marko and his awesome converted Ghost rider-Nightmare McCabe.

Marko is kind of my student when it comes to playing Ten Thunder. I have to say that I know each TT master well, but I only played Shen and Asami myself. This game was decided very quickly, because of the Desolate Engine… This happened very commonly the last time, because people don’t know it that good and I think this model is much underrated.

Ten Thunder: (Frame for Murder, Leave your Mark)

  • McCabe (Promises, Glowing Sabre, Elixir of Life) 4 SS
  • Shadow Emissary (Conflux of Exploration, Badge of Speed)
  • Katanaka Sniper
  • Luna
  • Dawn Serpent (Quick Murder)
  • Warden
  • 2x Guild Hound (Frame)

Outcast: (Claim Jump, Quick Murder)

  • Leveticus (From Ash, Pariah of Iron, Oathkeeper) 3 SS
  • Joss (Oathkeeper)
  • Rusty Alice (Oathkeeper)
  • Hodgepodge Effigy
  • Freikorps Librarian
  • 2x Hollow Waif
  • 2x Abomination
  • Mobile Toolkit

Deployment:

Marko won the flip and let me deploy first.

Turn 1
I won the flip for Initiative and let Marko go first.
  • 1st activation TT: The Emissary walked once, gave the serpent the nimble upgrade and then pushed it giving it fast.
  • 1st activation OC: First Waif did nothing.
  • 2nd activation TT: Sniper took a focus shot on the Librarian dealing 2 damage after armor.
  • 2nd activation OC: Second Waif did nothing.
  • 3rd activation TT: First dog walked a bit.
  • 3rd activation OC: First Abo did the card draw thing.
  • 4th activation TT: Second dog walked.
  • 4th activation OC: Effigy double walked.
  • 5th activation TT: Luna just walked a bit staying in cover.
  • 5th activation OC: Librarian double walked.
  • 6th activation TT: McCabe walked twice (a bit too aggressive) took the Upgrade from the serpent (don’t know why), handed out the sabre to the Warden and gave the Warden reactivate.
  • 6th activation OC: Second Abo did the card draw thing.
  • 7th activation TT: The dawn serpent double walked to the other table side and shot at the Effigy, missing it.
  • 7th activation OC: Mobile Toolkit walked twice in front of the group.
  • 8th activation TT: Warden double walked towards Effigy.
  • 8th activation OC: Joss charged the Toolkit generating two Scrap marker.
  • 9th activation TT: Warden charged Effigy, killing it.
  • 9th activation OC: Levi summoned two Abos and turned into a Waif.
  • 10-12th activation OC: Waif walked, one Abo did card draw and the last one turned itself and its friends into a Desolate Engine.
  • 13th activation OC: The Engine (placed in a way it could see McCabe) charged him, dealing a good amount of damage.
  • 14th activation OC: Rusty Alice dropped Oathkeeper, walked once and needed two AP to give the Engine reactivate.
  • 15th activation OC: With the Ml expert it killed McCabe first time. With its zero and the last two AP it finished him off completely. With the Pulses of both activations a dog was killed too.

Turn 2
I won initiative and went first.
  • 1st activation OC: The Engine walked once to engage the Warden, so he could not pick up a head. Then it hit the Serpent twice.
  • 1st activation TT: Warden walked towards the Engine and hit it once.
  • 2nd activation OC: First Waif double walked.
  • 2nd activation TT: Sniper hit Waif for 3 wounds.
  • 3rd activation OC: The Librarian walked forward.
  • 3rd activation TT: Serpent hit Engine twice and healed itself.
  • 4th activation OC: Alice walked and picked up a head.
  • 4th activation TT: Emissary walked towards the Center.
  • 5th activation OC: Second Waif walked twice towards the center.
  • 5th activation TT: Dog walked towards Levi and attacked him once.
  • 6th activation OC: Levi turned the dog into an Abo, giving Marko 3 VPs for Frame and walked in base contact with the head marker.
  • 6th activation TT: Little Luna ran away.
  • 7th activation OC: Joss dropped Oathkeeper, walked and charged the Emissary.
I scored Head Hunter and Marko scored Frame. 1-3 for Ten Thunder.
Turn 3
I won initiative and went first.
From now on I will sum the game up. The Engine killed the Serpent and the Warden. Joss killed the Emissary and after that, Marko called the game.
So it ended 10-3 for Outcast.
I guess it is always a hard hit if you lose your Master in turn one and Marko wasn’t really aware of what the Desolate Engine is able to do.
